Essay 6

Penis Envy the father of psychology by Sigmund fraud argues that all women suffer from not having a penis or for not having the power that the penis holds. He gave examples of women desire to have a penis and women make up for it by possessing or control their father and or their male mate, or take control of their male child or just becoming very destructive. Over a period of time women are portrayed as weak and dependent on men. But, now you have some women who have a title for themselves as a single mom, hero, independent and highly intelligent. But, it is still not enough for someone women to hold the dominating power.
In Hollywood women are portrayed really different. They have more power in the film and in novels as well. Hollywood also displays women as suffering from penis as well. In the film the matrix, the character trinity is a good example for the lack of penis and she makes up for it with playing character becomes this fighting machine. She takes on the role as the hero or the saver. She plays the part really well. She has numerous guns, advance fighting ability and she wears dark clothing and her hair slick back like a man. Her lover or love interest Neo becomes an interesting item. Their relation is rather interesting because Neo and trinity are the action lovers. It seems like at first Neo plays this innocent role as he just got in the matrix and started to learn his purpose and trinity dominated him the fact that she was there before was and she had to help him out. As Neo became more use to the matrix he becomes more superior and his character was more of what is role suppose to be over trinity. Trinity still tries to dominate Neo because she sacrifices their relationship and her life to get the respect as a strong woman. This cries for a “penis”. In the philosophical novel of the matrix trinity had role where she is suppose to be save by neo but, the situation turn around where she save Neo form almost dying. The role of trinity suppose to be where most drama final scenes which trinity delivers a sleeping beauty style kiss and breathe the life back into neo and demands “Neo to get up and save the world” (52)it was his destiny and trinity was going to save him. But, usually neo was supposed to be the hero and save her which he could not.
Another good example from the film “The Truman Show” His whole life was a fake. Truman was very Naïve until a whole lot things started to come together. The women who played her wife was very controlling she never really want Truman to be normal and to not notice anything. She stopped him from doing a lot of senseless stuff. For example Truman’s wife had to hide her real identity. She played a loving innocent house wife and deep down inside she was a controlling woman. Her innocents could not hide any longer. She had to dominate him. Play a role everyday just so that he won’t suspect anything. She did what had to do. She took control of him. Just by telling him that his son died during a boat accident and the storm took him away. She also did everything perfectly like cooking, going to work, pleasing him, let him hang out with his best friend and drinking a cold beer. The wife was in control. Also in the movie we just saw in class sleep dealer the girl that memo love interest she controls him so she can get him to confess his situation and for him to open to him so he can sell his story. When Memo had found out that he was being used she finally explain to him about the reason behind it. He was upset but, he really felt used and betrayed. Women can use their sex appeal to get what they want, in order to dominate the male. They can be innocent but also show the dominating role, they want that power.
In the end women are always going to fight for the lack of penis we don’t have. Women do it every day. Woman fight for it on their job at home and anywhere there are men women are going to want to be in control. It is in our nature.

Blog12:Extra Credit Sleep Dealer

Sleep Dealer is ostensibly mexcian production. what elements or themes in the film mark it as "particularly Latino" or particularly mexican? Sleep Dealer have many latino, mexcian traits. In the being you see the area and particularly certain race they are. The area they live in is particularly in the dessert. The area was very dry and lack of water. The lack of water was due to the goverment trying to take over their water supplies in the small desserted town. The family basically lived in the middle of nowhere. The main charcter memo and everyone in the film was spaeking spanish. In the film the directed displayed a lot of struggle and immargration situation as well. like in the movies the different labor jobs they had to do in order to survive was a big struggle. dangerous jobs and dangerous conflicts you can get into just to live. It showed a fierce competition amongst their race for a job as well. No one really spoke english except for the mexcian american solilder who killed the memo's father in the line of duty. Memo also had to work to send money to his family. His job was dangerous even with all of those plugs it still dangerous. He also was talking about moving somwhere else like the city and getting away from his deserted town, moving to the city would be better. the big city was mexico city and to get away from it you would have get plugged in and work in another state vertically. so, they werent really in a different state because legally an immagrant can't. This movie Gave a good example about the real mexcian life and their struggle and I enjoyed it.

I finally come up with a subject on my final project. I am going to be doing a calendar and have my own photography photos as the subject and to present i will do a video of all the photos I took and show the class which photo made the calendar. the subject would be the artistic view of New york. Defining what makes up new york. the taxi, buildings, traffic, people, graffiti, etc.

Blog 10

Reflecting back on my own writing process I would have to say that it was a on and off for me. what I mean by that is sometimes I get in the mood to write and then there are time where i just don't want to write at all. After reading everyone Else's blog i would have to say that everyone have done a very good job. While doing the research for our midterm overall everyone did a pretty good job. I think the number one problem for some people when comes to writing is trying to start it. it is hard to come up with an idea out of nowhere. starting is the most difficult task to do while researching. when you have an idea for one thing another one pops up and then you go on wanting to start that new topic you just thought of. I am not saying that you will never get around to finishing your project i think it is just very difficult to start, but eventually you will get through it. my writing needs a lot of work. I have organizational problems and of course grammar. I realize that when I continue to write all the time and make it a habit then I will improve little by little. I have to try to write everyday that is my solution.

I still have a few things listed. I am just trying figure out what exactly am I going to do. I am also thinking of Maybe Doing a book on Natural products. I was thinking of make a book and present it on powerpoint or make a video on how to do each one. Natural products for hair.

I am not sure what exactly he was tring to explain, did not really get it. this is my summary of what i think he ws trying to explain.Boundaries- Is something that makes the limit of something else. The expalins the difference in boundaries that have reasons behind it. for example your skin. their is a limit to your skin from the sun or any harm that can be done without protection. he also uses the jail and sending the prisoners to another country like austrailia. and excluded them form their natural state or enviroment. the point is distance them away. Connections is what connects us to society and everything we go through or see everyday in our lives. we depend on a lot of thins to help connect and I think we depend on it to much. Network is defined as something that causes chaos in our country, network is the basic function of what this country stands for. prisoners, power, oil, gas, aliens etc. Clocks everything is timed and fixes. and the history of time and time has advanced. bsaically he is trying to explain the changes of how we function and it may lead us into danger or obsession and we would not know to function without it. computer and how we communicate is something that is going to pay a serious toll later in life.
